I'm writing an app in python & need to manipulate images. If I can't do the manipulation inside of python, then I may as well just use imagemagick via os.system or popen rather than using some other binding. Using python for my app is not a choice, it's a requirement.It's unfortunate that Python's native image library only works on 8 bit images, otherwise, it does everything I need. (yes, I know there is experimental 16+ bit image handling, but I'm looking for something more stable).
